Cómo empresar la hora en inglés con un reloj analógico

Cuando nos pregunten la hora en inglés y llevemos un reloj de agujas tenemos que prestar atención a las cuatro posiciones clave del minutero:
relojes que muestran cómo decir la hora en inglés
  • ... en punto en inglés es o'clock
  • ... y cuarto es a quarter past
  • ... y media se escribe half past
  • ... menos cuarto lo ponemos como aquarter to
La imagen de arriba nos refleja que es necesario poner la partícula del inglés it's, que significason... Esta partícula va al comienzo de la oración. Después tenemos que utilizar las cuatro partículas que acabamos de aprender:
  1. o'clock
  2. aquarter past
  3. half past
  4. aquarter to
Y finalmente, para referirnos a la aguja de la hora ponemos el número correspondiente:
It's half past nine
Son las nueve y media
Esas cuatro fórmulas son básicas, pero en un reloj de aguja tenemos muchas más posiciones. Lo que se hace es sustituir éstas por números que identifiquen la posición del minutero:
It's twenty-five past seven
Son las siete y veinticinco
